Welcome Max Herbig - Director of Facilities Engineering

Serán BioScience is pleased to welcome its newest team member, Max Herbig, as Director of Facilities Engineering.

Herbig brings a decade of facilities engineering expertise to Serán, including the development of systems, processes, and facilities for pharmaceutical clients. This work has ranged from managing capital projects at the boots-on-the-ground level to developing strategies for optimizing business initiatives through a variety of capital projects. His areas of expertise include capital expenditure (CAPEX) program strategy and management. Notable past projects include a power plant for an R&D site; a wastewater facility for a commercial manufacturing facility; a ground-up early-phase clinical manufacturing facility, including the development of the Quality and operational programs; and commercialization of a process equipment train for multiparticulate manufacture. Herbig will play an integral role in the design and construction of systems for Serán’s new commercial GMP manufacturing facility, as well as a focus on facilities engineering improvements at the company’s 9-building campus in Bend, Oregon. The new 60,000-square-foot manufacturing facility is expected to be completed in 2024.

Herbig, a Bend native, said, “I’m excited to be part of the Serán team. Herbig holds a BS degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Colorado-Boulder.
